Terms of Sale
Last updated 16 September 2026. These terms describe how the sale actually works, and they agree with what the sales page, the FAQ and the download page each say about refunds.
What you are buying
A digital copy of The Family Safety & Resilience Guide by Russell Benzing: 402 pages, supplied as a PDF and an EPUB, for $19.99 in US dollars. There is no physical product and nothing is shipped.
Delivery
When Stripe confirms the payment it returns you to a download page carrying both files. The same link is sent with your receipt. It stays valid for 30 days from purchase and may be used on as many of your own devices as you like. If it expires before you have downloaded, write to the address below and it will be reissued at no charge.
Refunds
Before you download, a full refund, no questions asked. Email me@russellbenzing.com from the address on the receipt and the payment is returned.
After a download has been recorded against your order, there is no refund. A file cannot be returned once you have it, and the purchase has been delivered in full. Every download is recorded against the order with a timestamp, and your own download page shows you whether any has been recorded, so which of the two rules applies is a matter of record rather than of opinion.
This does not affect any right you have under the law where you live.
What you may do with the files
The purchase is for one household. You may read the files on every device you own, and you may print any part of the guide for your own family's use, which the action cards and the Family Playbook are specifically designed for. You may not resell, redistribute, or publish the files, in whole or in part.
The limits of what the guide contains
The guide is general information, not professional advice. It is not legal advice: the law on self-defense, firearm storage and transport, duty to retreat, and protection for bystanders who stop to help varies by state and changes over time, and the guide says so repeatedly rather than telling you what your law is. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for hands-on training. It is not a substitute for emergency services. In an emergency in the United States, call 911.
Every scenario in the guide is hypothetical and marked as such. No scenario is drawn from any real family or real event.
You remain responsible for deciding what applies to your family, your home, your health and your state. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author and operator of this site are not liable for any loss or injury arising from actions taken or not taken on the basis of the guide.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, and any dispute arising from them belongs in the state or federal courts of Lee County, Florida.
